
Nightlife in Ennis
Ennis has some great bars and clubs whether you are looking for the latest club sounds or want to hear Irish music. Traditional Irish music is an important part of Ireland’s story and Ennis is home to musicians famous both at home and abroad for offering some of the finest.
Traditional music sessions can be found in many of the pubs throughout the town, including Poet's Corner Bar within the Old Ground Hotel. The Glór Theatre in central Ennis also provides a forum for Irish musicians and artists to showcase their work to local, national and international audiences, celebrating the rich heritage of Irish music and culture for locals and visitors alike.

Popular with both locals and tourists, Knox’s Pub is located in the heart of the main shopping area in Ennis, which attracts the crowds. They offer great packages for large groups, such as hen or stag parties and birthday parties, which can include, music, finger food and a private seating area. With a number of large screens, it is also a great place to watch popular sporting events including rugby and sports from the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) which include Gaelic football and hurling. Food is served daily, both in the pub and the bistro, which is located upstairs. They offer a wide range of dishes and have an early bird menu and a la carte.

This traditional Irish pub is one of the oldest family run pubs in Ennis, being in the same family for more than 35 years. Located right in the centre of town, it is always busy with locals and tourists alike. Every Thursday from 21:00 there is a live traditional music session, but every night musicians and those who love music just turn up for spontaneous sessions with the fiddle and Bodran, with singing voices so good you wonder if they are famous.

The Poet's Corner
The Poet's Corner plays host to the finest traditional Irish musicians throughout the year. Noted for its comfortable atmosphere, the Poet’s Corner is popular with locals and with visitors. Between May and September, music can be enjoyed every Wednesday and Thursday from 20:30, Friday and Saturday from 22:00, Sunday from 21:30. Food is also served until 21:00 each night. Over winter months, traditional music sessions in the bar take place from 21:30, Friday to Sunday.

Brandon’s Bar
This famous bar and restaurant is popular for its live music and good food. The menu has a great variety of dishes to cater for all tastes and meals are served daily until 20:00. From Traditional Irish music to Metal, they have something to suit everyone and with live music every weekend, Brandon’s Bar attracts a great crowd. There is a large outdoor area for smoking and they also have a pool room to relax in.

The Queen Night Club Ennis
Queens Nightclub offers comfort and style spread over four floors, two dance floors and seven bars. This includes an outdoor bar and funky terrace area. This is the only nightclub in Ennis, so if you are going to a nightclub, you have to go here. The Sanctuary, also part of the Queen’s Hotel is open on Friday and Saturday night and specialises in music from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990’s.
